As you know, planning is key to starting a business (and not just for that). And although Christmas is about company dinners (even if there is no company 😉), family gatherings, and gifts for our loved ones, we must not forget that it is an important time for our business and how we take care of our clients and present our image.
Therefore, here are my 6 tips for planning and defining your marketing strategy during the 2018 Christmas campaign.
These will likely be key days for you as well. A good plan takes into account the special and marked days of the year and establishes the actions to be carried out during them. For this Christmas 2018, these days might be:
22 December: Christmas Lottery Draw
24 December: Christmas Eve
25 December: Christmas Day
28 December: Day of the Holy Innocents
31 December: New Year's Eve
5 – 6 January: Night and Day of the Three Kings
These days will help you optimize and achieve better results in your digital marketing or email marketing strategies. Do it in advance, calmly. You’ll achieve better results, quality content, and it will allow you to enjoy more of your time during these dates.
Whether your website is focused on your personal brand or you are part of or responsible for your company's corporate image, temporarily modify your logo (and/or icon) and give it a Christmas touch. You’ll humanize the appearance and give the feeling of being updated, active, and close to your users. The immediacy of technology and social media requires us to be continuously updated. Take advantage of it to stand out and make an impact.
You can take this opportunity to bring out your more human side. Create audiovisual content to support your posts and articles, and show them to the world. Depending on the type of company you have, you may need to opt for a more aggressive marketing strategy to achieve more conversions (in the case of e-commerce), but in any case, create quality content that will make people subscribe to your website and, who knows, perhaps after Christmas, they’ll hire your services.
As I mentioned in the previous section and depending on the type of company, you can take the opportunity to carry out a more aggressive marketing strategy targeting your 'buyer persona.' Create a new SEM strategy, offer discounts on your services, and make it irresistible to not take advantage of it. I always say this, but of course, quantify and analyze the results to see what impact it has had on your users.
So far, I have focused on your users (and hopefully future clients), but we should not forget about our employees, coworkers, or even ourselves! Creating a good atmosphere doesn’t cost much: put up some Christmas lights, decorate a tree with a few Christmas ornaments, or wear Santa hats during the day. Let yourself get immersed in the Christmas spirit, and you'll surely hear some laughter. It’s proven that when we’re happy, we perform better, so why not promote camaraderie and actively participate in gifting our most precious good, happiness?
All of this seems easy, but it takes time. If you're someone whose main business activity doesn’t allow you enough time to carry out your 2018 Christmas campaign, don’t hesitate to contact me through any of the communication channels on my page or the contact form at the top right, and I’ll be happy to help and guide you through the process. I’m sure you’ll be amazed by the results!
